Introduction to Playlist & Charts
Playlist charts is an analytics section in Datamusic in Backstage, providing an overview and a detailed monitoring of your performance in Apple Music, Spotify and Deezer’s playlists and charts.
Entries, exits, and playlists placements are shown over two pages « Overview » and « Playlist placements ».
Also, you can click on this icon for more intel on each widget when navigating the Playlist charts page.
Two cards are always displayed on top of the tool :
First one on the left shows you how many tracks have been included in X playlists over a specified time period which can be selected by the user: 7 days, 28 days, 90 days.
Second one on the right displays percentage of playlists' streams compared to all other sources (organic research, autoplay, etc). Also, you can note that time period on this widget is always fixed to 28 days.
"Overview” tab
This tab gives you insights on your overall performance on your catalog's performance on playlists.
All widgets adapt the time period to the one you choose.
Playlist entries and exits
This widget displays the 3 most recent entries and exits based on your selected time period.
To navigate on this widget, click on one of the two tabs.
Key informations are displayed for each track :
A : Track title
B : Platform
C : Entry or exit date
D : Playlist type
E : Playlist title
Link on the top right redirects you to the second part of this tool " Playlist placements".
Total streams
This widget displays the total number of streams only from playlists you are included in as well as percentage per playlist type.
Discover more information about the different types of playlists included in the tool.
Playlist placements
This widget displays repartition of playlists in percentage (%) and the number of playlists you are included in for each streaming platform.
Reminder: Apple music, Spotify and Deezer are the 3 streaming platforms concerned.
Playlist streams
This widget displays repartition of playlists' streams for each streaming platform in percentage (%) and the number of streams associated.
Top playlisted tracks
This widget shows the 3 most integrated tracks with playlists' streams and number of playlists it has been included in.
Top playlisted artists
This widget shows the 3 most integrated artists with playlists' streams and number of playlists’ they have been included in.
"Playlist placements" tab
Second part of "Playlist charts" tool focus on all information regarding a track's chart in playlists:
- Store's name
- Playlist title and type
- Number of followers of this playlist
- Entry date / exit date on the playlist
- Track’s title / Artist’s name
- Placement in the playlist / Placement date
- Number of streams generated by the track on the playlist
Chart's list shows data over a specific time period defined by the user :
By selecting one of three following tabs you can see three different insights on your playlist's performance:
- All, this tab displays all tracks on a playlist and active at least for a day. Chart list is ranked by decreasing number of streams
- Entries, this tab displays all tracks that has been included on a playlist during the selected time period. Chart list is ranked by the most recent entry date.
- An entry before or after the selected time period won't be displayed in this tab but in the "All" tab.
- Exits, this tab displays all tracks that has been taken out from a playlist during the selected time period. Chart list is ranked by the most recent exit date.
- An exit before or after the selected time period won't be displayed in this tab but in the "All" tab.
