In order to improve your Jazz releases’ referencing in their platform, iTunes has recently launched new metadata guidelines regarding the credit of each contributing performer. You will now need to designate the specific role and instrument of each performing artist, as well as indicate every track they’ve performed in.
To facilitate the compliance with these guidelines, the Believe Backstage will now allow you to choose the option “Jazz Music” on the release creation tool (as it is currently possible with Classical Music), which will open a creation tool especially made for Jazz releases. This tool will include a new “contributors” tab in which you will be able to credit each performer’s role in detail.
Please note that the compliance with these guidelines is mandatory if you wish your Jazz release to be delivered to iTunes. For more information on the new iTunes Jazz guidelines, you may check the iTunes Style Guide here.
