Provide tracks' lyrics to the Stores
Apple Music, NetEase, Tencent
You may provide your lyrics to Apple Music, NetEase & Tencent very easily during the release upload process in your Backstage. Simply copy paste your lyrics at a track level.
We encourage you to add lyrics for all singles and albums' songs. Follow the Guidelines to make lyrics compliant in Backstage.
Spotify & Instagram
Spotify and Facebook have a partnership with Musixmatch. Users can access the feature by clicking on the Lyrics tab at the bottom of their Now Playing screen within the app. This feature is currently available on 26 countries.
To provide the lyrics to these platforms, the rights-holder of the lyrics should sign up for Musixmatch Verified Artist. After this first step, the process to be followed will depend on whether it is a new release or an existing track.
For Instagram follow our article : How to add, edit and sync lyrics on Instagram stories
For Spotify follow the process below :
New Releases
- The lyrics' rights-holder should submit the lyrics along with timestamp details via the Musixmatch’s Verified Artist process / New Release form in advance to the track’s release date.
- For Priority tracks, if the rights-holder is unable to find the track's lyrics in Musixmatch’s catalog by end of day CET time on Saturday after the release day, they should notify Musixmatch via the New Release form/Verified Artists process.
Existing Tracks (pre-existing releases)
- The lyrics' rights-holder should search Musixmatch’s catalog to determine if the track is available.
